Attendees Leave with Empty Bowls and Full Hearts

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make the first Clear Fork Valley Empty Bowls such a success. The luncheon at Clear Fork High School resulted in thousands of healthy meals that the Bellville Neighborhood Outreach Center (BNOC) can provide to neighbors throughout the Clear Fork Valley. Thanks to sponsors and day-of donations, this year’s event raised approximately $6,500 that will work to ensure that everyone in the Clear Fork Valley has the nutritious food they need every day.

The November 4th luncheon welcomed a crowd of more than 400. Those who attended sampled a variety of delicious soups from five local restaurants and businesses: Black Dog Tavern, Der Dutchman, Fast Eddie’s Pizza, Stoodts Market, V&M Restaurant and Wishmaker House. Guests also raved about the scrumptious Brumby’s chocolate chip cookies. Additional soups and cookies were donated by dedicated BNOC volunteers.

The highlight of the Empty Bowls event was of course the beautiful bowls each attendee had the opportunity to take home. Hand-crafted in art class by 4th and 5th grade students from Bellville and Butler Elementaries, the bowls were a thank you and subtle reminder of the local fight against hunger.

The date is yet to be finalized, but please plan to join us for Clear Fork Empty Bowls 2019!
